NEVER-RELEASED NES GAME ‘MYSTERY WORLD DIZZY’ RELEASED FOR FREE

Mystery World Dizzy

There’s a new Dizzy game that’s actually quite old: it was originally supposed to be released in 1993, for NES.

Never heard of Dizzy? That’s OK. It just means you probably didn’t grow up gaming in Europe during the ’80s and ’90s. It was a big series at the time, starting in 1987 with Dizzy — The Ultimate Cartoon Adventure.

That first game was released for the ZX Spectrum, Amstrad PC, and Commodore 64 — remember any of those? It was created by Philip and Andrew Oliver — known as the Oliver Twins — and published by their early collaborator, the U.K.-based Codemasters.

The Dizzy series follows a smiling, egg-shaped creature who leaps around — avoiding hazards and solving puzzles — as he tries to keep his people, the Yolkfolk, safe from an evil wizard called Zaks. Like many popular games from the era, it takes cues from Nintendo platformers like Mario.

The Oliver Twins (and later, Big Red Software) created a string of Dizzy games, spin-offs, and compilations between 1987 and 1994. Some of that stuff never got released at the time, but has trickled out since.

Such is the case with Mystery World Dizzy, a browser-based port of a game that was originally intended for an NES release in 1993. In its original form, Mystery World is technically just a spiffed up remake of Fantasy World Dizzy, the third game in the series and perhaps the best-known of the bunch.

The 2017 port comes from the Oliver Twins, who announced the release on Twitter.

This actually isn’t the first old-made-new-again port from the Oliver Twins. Back in 2015, the sibling game makers delivered a similarly never-before-released port of Wonderland Dizzy, an NES version of the series’ sixth game, Magicland Dizzy.

Several years earlier, the Olivers attempted to revive the series with a proper sequel, called Dizzy Returns. They brought the effort to Kickstarter in 2012, but ultimately fell far short of the £350,000 funding target, with only £25,620 pledged.

‘DESTINY 2’ WON’T LET YOU TRANSFER YOUR CHARACTER PROGRESS FROM ‘DESTINY’

Destiny-3

Say goodbye to all the gear and currency you’ve spent hours and hours (and hours) farming for in Destiny, because the sequel won’t let you transfer any of it over.

In a blog post today, Bungie announced that in order to make the second Destiny game feel like a true sequel, Destiny 1 players will not be able to bring any of their earned items or abilities over to the new game.

Sequels represent the start of a new adventure for every player, with new worlds to explore, new stories to tell, new powers to acquire, new loot to earn, and much more. This led us to a decision that would enable us to serve both the game and the player’s best interests: Destiny 1 power, possessions, and Eververse-related items and currency will not carry forward. They will, however, remain accessible to you in Destiny 1.

This was previously rumored by Kotaku, whose sources also noted that Destiny’s sequel will be coming to PC as well as Xbox One and PS4.

The team won’t completely forget about players who’ve spent hundreds or even thousands of hours with their Guardians, though. If you’ve reached level 20 on a Guardian and finished the Black Garden story mission, you’ll be able to carry over that Guardian’s class, race, gender, face, hair and marking selections. Additionally, you will receive “honors that reflect your Destiny 1 accomplishments.”

We believe this is the best path forward. It allows us to introduce the major advancements and improvements that all of us expect from a sequel, ensuring it will be the best game we can create, unencumbered by the past. We’re looking forward to sharing more details with you later this year for how we will honor your legacy in the future.

The Destiny sequel has yet to be officially announced but is expected to release in late 2017.

In the meantime, Destiny will be receiving one final event called Age of Triumph, which will be revealed March 8.

‘FALLOUT’ BECOMES A BOARD GAME IN ‘WASTELAND WARFARE’

Fallout

Fallout has appeared on computers, consoles, tablets, and smartphones, but one format still eludes it: tabletop.

No longer. The hit series from Bethesda Softworks is finally getting the board game treatment. And unlike the older, themed version of Monopoly, this one is its own game.

Fallout: Wasteland Warfare is a miniatures game from Mophidius Entertainment. It’s “coming soon” and… that’s pretty much everything we know at this point.

A teaser image offers an early look at some of the game’s miniatures. Lots of familiar sights here: a power armor-wearing Brotherhood of Steel soldier, a couple of raiders, a deathclaw, an eyebot, and even a Nuka Cola machine.

Miniatures games tend to fall somewhere between pen-and-paper RPGs and strategy-focused board games. They’re generally more complicated than traditional board games, with long play times and progression/upgrade elements reminiscent of video games.

Mophidius is one of a younger generation of tabletop game publishers that have discovered the power of Kickstarter as potent marketing tool. The company launched in 2012 and has found repeated success with bringing projects to the crowdfunding platform.

There’s no word one way or another one whether or not Fallout will stick to that same pattern, but there’s no reason to believe it won’t. You can sign up for news blasts about the game on the Mophidius website.

An Introduction to Production

Heya Folks! We are back again! This time to share a little information on Production.

So, tell us how will you define Production?

Umm… The process of making a movie, play or record. Is It?

Yes. So, the definition is clear!

But if we look at this stage in depth, it is a pure hard work.

All the steps of Pre-Production are planned into action like Modeling, Texturing, Rigging, Framing, Rendering and more.

It’s always said, if your Pre-Production is in perfect shape then production is not a hard work anymore.

Let us take a look at these steps in depth…

Modeling

There are different departments for character and SET modeling where character is imagined, set is planned. The designers who are working on modelling the character and SET draw their imagination on papers though a rough sketch. Model it using clay if required and then create it using animation software’s.  In Pre-Production, nothing is on papers, be it character modelling or SET modelling. Scene is developed, SET is designed, character is Modeller with props. So, what else is required during production? Everything is ready. Just need to say “Action”!

Texturing Or Sculpting

After modelling, character is shifted to texturing process. Sculpting, colouring, or detailing of character is done here. It’s an optional process. Why? because already in Pre-Production the character or SET is designed, sculpted, ensemble with clothes and ornaments or detailed to give it a final look.

Rigging

In a simple language, it means movement of limbs. In Animation, characters are designed with their signature ornaments where a minute button controls the movement of the limbs. For eg: Let us take the character of Chota Bheem. He wears band on both his wrists. Have you seen? There is a small button attached with that ornament which controls the stimulation of hands.

Animation

Scene is ready so as SET and characters with their props. Now, it’s time to say “Roll Sound…Camera… Action…”.  Here, storyboard is required which specifies scenes for different characters and their roles, the voice hovers are integrated in characters, side by side detailing is taken care of, character is given motion so as the environment (SET) – what we call the stimulation and frames are created.

Rendering

The action has taken place,  characters have essayed their roles according the scenes and per scene n number of frames are created. During the rendering process, the frames which have shadow effects or any other effects are separated, the which frames require slow or fast animation are also separated.  Later, all these frames are taken to the third stage i.e. post production.

Here, the production of making animated movie ends! Checkout the recent examples of Production by GameYan Studio :
